What is Massage Therapy?

Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to bring a neuromuscular response that could promote decreased recovery time, decreased pain, decreased muscle spasms, increased blood flow, improved flexibility, improved body awareness, and relaxation. Massage therapy can also help to decrease stress, improve sleep, increase range of motion, and boost mental health.

What can Massage Therapy Treat?

Massage therapy can help treat strain and sprains, tension and stress, chronic pain, headaches, TMJ symptoms, pain during and after pregnancy, pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis, and pain from inflammation after exercise.

Massage therapy and physical therapy when used together could best help to maximize your benefits from each and to return you back to your normal and pain free life faster!

What can I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit for massage therapy will consist of some paperwork and an evaluation by your massage therapist to ensure that your treatment goals can be met. Patients may wear gowns or undergarments if they chose and will be given a private room for their treatment. Patients are always in control of their privacy.
